Despite this, director Scott Waugh has expressed his desire to continue with the franchise and make a fifth instalment. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Waugh stated that he would be honoured to direct another film in the series and would be open to including new stars. He also praised Sylvester Stallone’s storytelling abilities and expressed his enjoyment of working with him on The Expendables 4. Although the film’s ratings and box office earnings have been disappointing, Waugh remains optimistic about the franchise’s future.
