“Stallone’s Unconventional Way of Rating His Films – A $70M Disaster that Continues to Linger at the Bottom”

Sylvester Stallone is a well-known name in the entertainment industry, thanks to his popular movie franchises such as Rocky and Rambo. His successful career has been on an upward trajectory since then, and he has continued to mesmerize audiences with captivating performances. Given that action plays a crucial role in most of his films, his dedication to his craft inevitably takes a toll on him.

In a still from the movie The Expendables 4, we see Sylvester Stallone, the man who brought this franchise to life back in 2010 with its first installment. This action-packed movie left a permanent mark on him, as he took his role seriously and suffered some injuries on set. Interestingly, Stallone uses these injuries as his grading system when it comes to his projects. Here’s more on Sylvester Stallone’s unique grading system for his films.

Sylvester Stallone, the renowned Hollywood action star, is known for his love of experiencing real-life action on camera. Unfortunately, injuries are an inevitable part of being an action actor, often resulting in permanent damage. During the filming of The Expendables 3, the 77-year-old actor suffered from serious injuries, which he compared to his injury-free experience during the making of Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, a critically unsuccessful movie. In an interview with Mirror, Stallone shared that he associates the intensity of his on-set injuries with the quality of the film. According to him, “I grade the quality of a film by the intensity of the injuries. When I shot Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, I never got hurt.” Despite being a commercial success, Stallone has labeled it as his worst film ever and believes that a flatworm could write a better script than that movie.

He shared his experiences of sustaining injuries during the filming of Rambo and The Expendables series. However, the injury he suffered during the 2014 film was different from the previous ones. He mentioned that he had broken his neck and spine and dislocated both shoulders in the previous films. In the current movie, he fell on his back, and doctors had to insert metal into his back. His co-star, Jason Statham, also had a near-fatal ride partly due to him. Despite all these efforts, the film failed to impress the critics. Sylvester Stallone talked about a serious incident involving Jason Statham.

For the third installment of the action-packed franchise, The Expendables, Stallone and his co-stars had to perform dangerous action sequences and extreme physical activities. During an interview, the Rambo actor revealed that Jason fought death in the midst of the Black Sea when he drove a five-ton truck 60 feet down into black mud because Stallone cut the brake line. He confessed that no one knew about this incident until he revealed it in the interview. Despite having an ensemble cast featuring Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the star-studded movie was a critical flop. However, it managed to perform well financially, grossing over $209.46 million against a production budget of around $100 million. On the other hand, its sequel, The Expendables 4, which was released in September, is both a critical and box-office flop, having grossed only $42.7 million worldwide so far.
