Miley Cyrus gave in to her temptations and indulged in smoking a joint while performing on stage during the MTV EMAs on Sunday. Additionally, she also twerked alongside a dwarf.
During an event packed with top performers like Eminem and Katy Perry, the 20-year-old pop star walked away with two awards, including Best Video for her hit song “Wrecking Ball.” She kicked off the show with a space-themed performance of “We Can’t Stop” in a silver spandex suit. As she danced, she twerked towards her smaller female dance partner and finished the number by sticking out her tongue, which was her signature move displayed during her controversial appearance at MTV’s Video Music Awards in New York last August. When she won the top prize later in the evening, she celebrated by lighting up a large joint and taking a quick puff, much to the delight of the crowd at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.
In the Netherlands, marijuana is not classified as legal, but individuals are not prosecuted for having small quantities of it. Furthermore, it is openly sold in cafes commonly referred to as “coffee shops.” Miley Cyrus, who has shed her innocent “Hannah Montana” persona, openly expressed her fondness for Amsterdam’s attractions by visiting the Greenhouse coffee shop with fellow stars before her performance. During her live rendition of “Wrecking Ball,” she rocked marijuana leaf emblems on her earphones while a giant video screen showed her crying. The EMAs usually spotlight international pop music artists, although there’s some overlap; Bruno Mars won Best Song for “Locked Out of Heaven,” and Eminem won both the Best Hip Hop and Global Icon categories.
The show with a theme of โintergalacticโ is set to be aired again in the United States on Sunday. Katy Perry won the award for Best Female Artist and was taken aback by her win, causing her to spit out her champagne before heading to the stage to thank her supporters. Her performance featured her suspended by wires and sporting a mirrored outfit that reflected green lasers while singing โUnconditional.โ
Eminem has recently dropped his latest album after a long hiatus and it seems like he hasn’t lost his touch in rapping. During his performance of “Rap God,” he amazed the crowd with his rapid-fire delivery of lyrics. Eminem was also bestowed the Global Icon award by the character Ron Burgundy, portrayed by actor Will Ferrell. In a humorous exchange, Ron revealed that Dutch DJ Afrojack has been talking trash about Eminem behind his back, to which the rapper nonchalantly replied with a straight face, “Who?”
